Omega-3 Index Complete
The Omega-3 Index Complete test measures the following:
Have you ever considered that a fat deficiency may be compromising your health? If you are a typical American, you use dietary targets rather than blood-test goals to track the fats you consume. Consequently, you are most likely deficient in omega-3 fatty acids while consuming too many omega-6s and trans fats… all of which play a role in your overall health as well as strongly influencing cardiovascular risk factors.
Unfortunately, eating fish and consuming supplements does not guarantee delivery of crucial Omega-3 fatty acids to important organs and tissues such as your heart, brain, eyes, and joints. Just because you are ingesting omega-3s, it does not mean that your body is actually absorbing them! Your own unique differences in metabolism, absorption, and genetics make it necessary to test - not guess!
Requiring one drop of blood, the in-home test kit called the Omega-3 Index can give you an unbiased view of your dietary intake of omega-3s as well as your risk of developing cardiovascular disease. An Omega-3 Index in the range of 8-12% is an indicator of better overall health and can help to support and maintain heart, brain, eye, and joint health.1
After you increase your intake of EPA+DHA, your Omega-3 Index will begin to slowly increase within a few days, and will continue to change for 3-4 months. To know how your own body responds to an increased intake of EPA+DHA, we recommend that you re-measure your Omega-3 Index in 3-4 months. Once you reach the healthy range for Omega-3 Index, we recommend that you re-test every 6 months to make sure it remains in the desirable range.

Results take 2-4 weeks from the time the laboratory receives your sample. This kit is not available in Pennsylvania.
Other fatty acid tests do not use the same analysis methods and cannot be interchanged with the Omega-3 Index. The unique method used at OmegaQuant provides a metric that has been accepted in over 100 research publications, making it the most published of all the commercially-available methods.2
