Determine recent lead exposure in adults
This blood test measures whole blood levels of lead, a toxic heavy metal. Whole blood testing is the best test to measure the extent of acute or recent lead exposure.
Lead toxicity is associated with anemia and interference in normal red blood cell production. Early symptoms of lead poisoning include mood changes, fatigue, anorexia, and anemia. Symptoms of toxicity include GI disturbances, joint discomfort, headaches and other neurological symptoms.
Lead exposure may occur from paint, soil, contaminated drinking water, cosmetics, and other contaminated products.
Lead blood testing is useful in determining recent acute exposure, whereas urine testing is preferred for assessing chronic exposure.
Note
Important: This test is not intended for use in minors (individuals under 18 years of age). Life Extension does not offer lead blood testing for minors at this time.
Instructions
